At Cubby we love construction, however in our experience in the industry we have come to see how much waste is produced and poorly discarded. This is a massive reason why we have chosen to create a business that builds in one space, builds sustainability, and disposes of material waste properly.
Cubby specialises in off-site manufacturing, meaning the majority of our construction work is done inside a factory. This allows us to closely manage the building waste we produce and ensure it is disposed of correctly. Starting with the plan, we choose suitable material suppliers. Then we build "measure twice and cut once". Then we transport to the site and handover the keys.
Our Processes
Plan
Cubby will select material suppliers based on their efforts towards sustainability. Our preferred material suppliers have recycling programs in place that will allow us to return any surplus building material we do not need. Where this is not an option we outsource recycling yards to break down, repurpose and on-sell material waste.
Build
Further consideration is given to conserve building material throughout the construction process. The construction team will store material offcuts in designated bins and then pick from these bins when shorter lengths are required. Once construction is complete these bins are emptied and the surplus material is accounted for as landfill.
